How to Submit Samples for Testing

Complete guide to preparing and shipping your peptide samples for professional laboratory analysis

1 Before You Start

📋 Information You'll Need

  • Peptide identification: Name, sequence, or chemical formula (e.g., BPC-157, Semaglutide, TB-500)
  • Batch/lot number: If available from your supplier
  • Sample quantity: How much you're submitting (minimum 1-2 mg for most tests)
  • Physical form: Lyophilized powder, reconstituted solution, or liquid
  • Storage conditions: How the sample has been stored (frozen, refrigerated, room temp)
  • Existing documentation: Any prior COAs or lab reports (optional but helpful)

✅ Submission Requirements Checklist

Age Verification: You must be 18 years or older
Research Use Statement: Confirm samples are "for research purposes only – not for human or veterinary consumption"
Legal Compliance: Accept responsibility for compliance with all federal, state, and local laws
U.S. Address: Domestic U.S. shipping only (no international shipments)
Contact Information: Valid email, phone number, and shipping address
Safety Information: Disclose any known hazards (provide SDS if available)

⚠️ We Cannot Accept

  • Samples intended for human consumption, injection, or clinical use
  • Samples intended for veterinary diagnostic or therapeutic use
  • Controlled substances or Schedule I-V compounds
  • International shipments (U.S. domestic only)
  • Samples from individuals under 18 years of age

2 Prepare Your Sample

📦 Sample Requirements by Test Type

Test Minimum Sample Preferred Form
HPLC Purity 1-2 mg Lyophilized powder
Mass Spectrometry 0.5-1 mg Powder or solution
Sterility Testing 5-10 mg or 1 mL Sealed vial (unopened preferred)
Heavy Metals 5-10 mg Lyophilized powder
Endotoxin (LAL) 2-5 mg Powder or solution
Complete Package 15-20 mg Lyophilized powder

✅ DO

  • Use original sealed vials when possible
  • Use screw-cap microcentrifuge tubes (1.5-2.0 mL)
  • Wrap vial caps with parafilm or lab tape
  • Place vials in secondary leak-proof container
  • Include desiccant packs for powder samples
  • Label each vial clearly with peptide name

❌ DON'T

  • Use flip-top or snap-cap tubes (can leak)
  • Submit samples in plastic bags only
  • Submit wet or contaminated samples
  • Mix multiple peptides in one container
  • Use damaged or cracked vials
  • Submit unlabeled samples

💡 Pro Tip: Lyophilized Samples

Lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder samples are most stable for shipping and provide the most accurate results. If your sample is reconstituted, ship frozen with dry ice when possible.

3 Package & Ship

📦 Packaging Instructions

Layer 1: Primary Container

Place sample in screw-cap vial or original sealed container. Wrap cap with parafilm or lab tape to prevent loosening.

Layer 2: Secondary Containment

Place vial in a leak-proof ziplock bag or sealed plastic container. Add absorbent material (paper towel) to cushion.

Layer 3: Temperature Control (if needed)

For temperature-sensitive samples: Use frozen gel packs (2-8°C) or dry ice (-78°C). Wrap ice packs to prevent direct contact with sample.

Layer 4: Outer Packaging

Place everything in a padded envelope or insulated shipping box. Include your printed submission form inside.

📋 Shipping Checklist

Carrier: Use FedEx or UPS overnight shipping (USPS not recommended)
Timing: Ship Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend delays
Label: Mark package "Research Peptides – Not for Human Consumption – Handle with Care"
Documentation: Include printed submission form with order number inside package
Tracking: Save tracking number and email it to lab@ghklab.com
Signature: Require signature on delivery for chain of custody

⚠️ Temperature-Sensitive Samples

If your peptide requires cold storage:

  • Refrigerated (2-8°C): Use frozen gel packs in insulated box
  • Frozen (-20°C or below): Use dry ice (minimum 5 lbs for overnight)
  • Note: Dry ice requires special shipping labels (Class 9 hazmat for air)
  • Ship Monday-Tuesday only to ensure delivery before weekend
